eiamrweiamrwvlookup()

I'm mr vlookup() himself (just kidding of course) but that is one powerful formula and I do need to use it a lot.

Due to approaching months end and some silly report I got to make I expect to do a lot of excel in the coming week.

Excel 2007 has also the formula COUNTIFS() (so plural) I do not think that existed in 2003. Very handy to do related countifs

Also doing lots of work in Sharepoint.

I would like to do some infopath. But for that I would need a project a target.

Proposal, Allthough we're not doing extremely well with this challenge and it does not seem the 1.000 lines are gonna be made by either of us I for one would not mind once this one is over to participate in a new one; even with the same target.

ended up going some excel coding at work. VLOOKUP() anyone?
zolonmanzolonmanheh
my too. coding hasnt come a easy as i thought. i just need a project/goal to code toward. got any ideas?
eiamrweiamrwtrouble starting with vb

I'm still preparing to get my vb project started. That is

  • because I just received a new laptop and found out that the work I already did was in a directory I had not yet copied over
  • I'm maybe on a few too many of these challenges and do not find enough time in the day to keep up with all of them

But this is important so somehow someway I will get this challenge up and running too

How do you like linux btw I only know it through knoppix.

zolonmanzolonmanpygtk
Since i'm running linux, and looking at python these days. I started with Pygtk. The graphicallibrary for python. You can do the programming. I got the hello world programming going. just getting started with this challenge though. just getting warmed up.
eiamrweiamrwMore investigate
I wrote documentation for my excel rapport. Not real coding still documentation for your work is critical otherwise you may loose track can never hand your work over and every time it needs to be done is again a discovery so therefore I regard the documenting as  part of coding

Had to go through excel formulas to compare data. Maybe not entirely true to the challenge but that is what I did to get ahead with this challenge

Yeah true without Title you can't succesfully submitI your comment.

I have plenty projects by the way. I had a colleague who developed several tools to automate stuff. He developed it all in vb but never left any documentation. As I am a mere beginner in coding in vb lots of his tools work as long as they work, the minute something breaks down the life of that tool is over.

I worked a long time on learning trying to learn VB but I still have no clue what I am looking at if I look at vb code. so 30 days of trying to code might really give me the basis I need. When not nothing lost  so in that sense a good challenge.

Looks like you need a subject for this comments to work.

I think i might try and get some more done with python and maybe some javascript like you. Do you have any projects to try?

eiamrweiamrwI'm in

I take it this is 1000 lines of code reached at the end of the 30 day period which is about 35 lines of code a day.

I most likely will use this challenge to re-start my study of vb which I had started with a lot of enthusiasm and which I tried spending 90 minutes a day on until that got a bit too much for me. Unfortunately now that course has come to a complete standstill.

I will also count the lines of code that are a result  of my work. That will mostly be html and very little Javascript
