Can you be perfect? How is the idea of being perfect effecting your life?  You can enjoy a perfect life today, if you know how.

Nothing is "perfect", things are just tolerable to a certain degree, some more than others.

One thing I've learned in life is that when you look at another person and their life looks perfect, they're probably more screwed up than you are!  Good podcast!

I think practice makes permanent - not perfect. Life is seasonal; you have to move with it. Never believe what you hear in commercials - ever notice the BIG mac is never as big as in the picture. True, obsessive perfectionism is destructive. However, I agree that you have to strive to be the best you can be and perfectionism does play a role.

The 3 L's - Learn it. Live it. Love it.

Appriciating the value in confronting everyday's challenges with a positive attitude and understanding that wisdom will conform your idea as 'perfect'.

Being a perfectionist has always been something that i've had to deal with, not so much in relation to body image, but my acions. It's frustrating when you have to evaluate yourself based on what people might think of you. I think this is the main reason ive developed social-anxiety disorder.

The persona on the outside can differ than waht's going on inside.  A lot of people put up a 'front' to hid their imperfections from others

I liked the message of this podcast but I have to say that saying you will be perfect if you think you are is a falsehood.  There is no such thing as being perfect.  Understanding that perfection is not attainable is key to being able to accept who you are as you are.

I always try to remember that a)no one is perfect, and b)just like "normal," how do you define perfect? Life is inherently imperfect, so why should we hold ourselves to a standard that we invented and cannot achieve?

Very good podcast. Now I have to practicewhat I just preached. ;)

Recently a study proclaimed that the happiest people in the world are the Danes.  In interviews, several Danes said they felt that they were generally satisfied with their lives and that they felt that accounted for their happiness.  This podcast on Perfectionism reminded me that savoring the 'Is' has its rewards.

I would agree with most of this podcast with the exception of the comment that we are perfect if we believe we are.  I tend to think that nothing is perfect but it is the imperfections that give us character are part of who we are.  But I definitely agree that even though we can always strive to improve, if we take time to enjoy things as they are now and be happy with who we are and the people we love as they are, that we will be much happier.

Great comments! Love to see all the different thoughts.  One thing I  make sure is that we understand that the idea of seeing yourself as being perfect was not suggested but,

"Will you ever be perfect?

If you love your self, you are!"

That loving yourself is perfect.  We have to love who we are.

Keep the conversation going and keep listening.

Cheers!
