Glenn's Life List:
1. Practice celibacy because it gives me maximum energy and helps me feel the best about myself 2. Go to bed by 8 PM so I can rise by 2 AM because it helps me to complete my meditation early, and leaves me time for other things 3. Do yoga exercises every morning because then I wont feel so stiff and sore, and more energized 4. Read everyday for at least 3 hours because I have collected so many books that I want to read, that take me to the spiritual world, and help me to improve myself
5. Earn money steadily at something I enjoy and save it so I can buy a cabin or small house to live in
6. Organize a curriculum, and start teaching ayurvedic vegetarian cooking classes, kirtan classes, and classes on spiritual growth 7. Recaord a series of CDs, beginning with the Morning and Evening Sadhana program

Please educate me in buying my first home-cabin !

Im 54 and single. Ive rented apartments all my adult life, or just travelled a lot. When my marriage ended six years ago, I moved into my van, and have been driving all over the place selling commercial art prints, and then jump on a plane to India to escape the brutal Canadian winter. Ive been storing my big library of metaphysical and healing books with several friends over the years, but I feel it has been a botheration to them, and not fun for me either to always be living out of boxes !?!  As much as I dont like the system of the Establishment, I want to see if I can integrate into society, and not be consumed by it, and be an exampleof self-sufficiency, off their grid, or spider web. To do this, I would like to learn to live as self sufficiently as possible with maybe solar panels, a wood stove, or wind or water power, and an organic garden. Finally I could have a nice wall filled with all of my wonderful books, and maybe a corner for a mini recording studio, and my ayurvedic kitchen overlooking lots of green and trees, with my organic garden just outside the door , watered by pure spring water ! Back to reality ! I dont have any capital to start with, but between Fall and Christmas , I can raise at least $ 10,000 selling gift items. I thought I should go and speak to a broker to get help on slecting a house-cabin. I am living in Quebec, and I think that homes and land are less expensive here than in Ontario. I need to find out where the best growing season is, and where there are no GMO Frankenfood farms that will blow their nasty seeds all over the small organic farm I want to do. Idont need to be a pig farm either !!! Dd that once before while renting a place. Ewwww !!!! My dream is also to have a healing retreat, which would be more like a former YMCA or Boy Scout camp, with a spacious seminar-temple room, a large kitchen to feed everyone from, individual cabins for week or weekend stays, where seminars could be given regularly, yoga taught in all its aspects, meditation, detodification treatments, herbal walks, ad infinitum....I dont have that kind of money at all, but I do believe in the power of intention, and how God works in wonderful ways. Im not sure if straw bale houses are actually affordable at this point, or if its just better to buy an old fixer upper and work with that. I dont know anything about the pitfalls of buying an old house-cabin, or what to look for as far as the quality of the land...Any insights from anyone will give me a beacon of light to strive towards to make this dream come true. I want to facilitate others well being and spiritual rejuvenation in this lifetime. Please share your thoughts with me and give me your feedback. Thanks very much !
