Glass Half Full????

I've been pondering the question - is the glass half full, or half empty?

I know that traditionally, half full has been considered the optimist answer, but lately I've been thinking the opposite.  To me, emptiness isn't bad, it's an opportunity to put something there.  So instead of focusing on what's already there, someone who says the glass is half empty is focusing on the future and what could be put there.

I've always considered myself an optimist, but if I'm asked that question, I have to answer half empty because it gets me more excited about the opportunities for change and growth.  Half full seems to drag me down for some reason - half empty focuses on not what's already happened, but what I can change.

So I'm looking at my glass that is half empty, and I'm thrilled!
